Who We Are

We are a small, family-oriented, TICA registered cattery located in Eastern North Carolina, dedicated to raising high-quality, healthy Ragdoll cats with exceptional temperaments. Our cats are raised in a loving home environment and receive daily socialization, attentive care, and love. We are committed to responsible breeding practices and strive to adhere to The International Cat Association (TICA) breed standards, with a strong focus on health, temperament, and overall quality. Our goal is to provide families with beautiful, well-adjusted Ragdolls that become cherished members of their forever homes.

Our journey into breeding Ragdolls began with a lifelong love for cats and a deep appreciation for their unique ability to bring comfort, companionship, and joy into a home. What started as a passion for these gentle, affectionate cats quickly grew into a commitment to preserving and improving the Ragdoll breed through responsible, ethical breeding practices. Inspired by the loving nature and trusting temperament that Ragdolls are known for, we founded Purrsimmon Branch Ragdolls with the goal of raising kittens that are not only beautiful but also healthy, well-socialized, and confident. Each kitten is raised with care, intention, and respect, reflecting our belief that every cat deserves a loving start and a forever home.

Our Commitment at Purrsimmon Branch Ragdolls

Choosing to intentionally bring kittens into the world is a responsibility we take very seriously. Breeding is never done casually or impulsively here. Every decision at Purrsimmon Branch Ragdolls is guided by careful planning, long-term vision, and a deep respect for the Ragdoll breed.

A Foundation Built on Health

The foundation of our program is health — without it, nothing else matters. We only breed Ragdolls that have been thoroughly health screened and genetically tested. We believe in full transparency, which is why health testing information is openly available. Our goal is to produce kittens that are not only beautiful and loving, but also strong and healthy for years to come.

Protecting the Signature Ragdoll Temperament

Ragdolls are known for their famously sweet personalities, and protecting that temperament is one of our highest priorities. We carefully select breeding cats that demonstrate gentle, affectionate, confident, and easygoing traits. The relaxed, floppy nature and loving companionship the breed is known for doesn’t happen by accident — it begins with thoughtful genetic selection.

Over the years, we have learned that while socialization is important, temperament is largely inherited. For that reason, we pay very close attention to personality traits within each line. We do not continue breeding cats that consistently produce overly high-strung, reactive, or extremely timid temperaments. Developing predictable, well-balanced personalities takes time, patience, and a commitment to long-term goals.

Honoring Breed Type and Structure

In addition to health and temperament, we are committed to producing Ragdolls that reflect the breed standard in both structure and expression. Correct proportions, strong boning, properly placed ears, and vivid eye color are all qualities we prioritize.

We are especially drawn to the classic “doll-faced” look — soft, sweet expressions that feel balanced and harmonious rather than extreme. The cats at Purrsimmon Branch Ragdolls tend to reflect that gentle, refined appearance because we are intentional about the overall look and consistency of our program.
